"All right," Nate says, and smacks his hands together. "Let's go steal a con artist."

Review:
Short, but shows off the cleverness of both shows' characters. I especially like Parker's Eliot impression and her reaction when Neil recognizes her.

Author's Summary:
AU from original premise of SPN – Sam goes to law school and eventually joins the FBI, where he gets assigned as Peter’s probie, and the New York FBI office staff are amused, and eventually, slightly traumatized.

Review:
A nice crossover where the Winchesters aren't on the wrong side of the FBI.  In fact, Sam's special area of expertise ends up being really important in a couple of Peter and Neal's cases.  The character interactions/relationships are really cool too.  I especially like the hints of there being a relationship between Sam and Dean.

Short (Words: 7,892)

Author's Summary:
"Are you handling him, or becoming him?" Peter doubts ... and wonders. It's hard to believe in yourself when people you respect keep telling you that you've made the wrong choice. (For a prompt at CollarCorner; spoilers for the season 3 finale.)

Review:
I'm still only two-thirds of the way through the book I bought yesterday so today's rec had to be short.  This is a great character study and episode tag that fits seamlessly into canon following the season 3 finale.  It's a fantastic and in-character look at Peter, and at Neal through Peter's eyes.  Very well done.

Author's Summary:
Neal and Peter are investigating the theft of a van Gogh; Amy and Rory are doing the tourist thing on the way to Lake Silencio. When Amy turns out to know a little too much about the stolen painting, Neal can hardly be blamed for getting the wrong impression....

Review:
This is a cool little fic about the trouble that time travel can get you into, especially when you try to show off your seemingly-impossible Van Gogh knowledge to a handsome stranger.  Amy and Rory are really well-written.  The White Collar characters only a tad less so.  But what I really love about this fic is all the little references/spoilers to Doctor Who canon thrown in here and there.  The use of Eleventh Doctor canon is really, really good.

Fandom: White Collar

Genre: General, Case fic
Length:  Medium (Words: 17,566)

Author's Summary:
A routine investigation into an art theft turns up Neal's fingerprints on a stolen painting. Neal swears he's never stolen a Nullier painting, but that's only half the truth...

Review:
Awesome case fic.  Lots about art and Neal's character is well done - as good a forger as canon Neal is, it's very believable that he could have an art career in just this way.  The development of the case is good, though once or twice, the case logic skips a step (like when Neal is interrogating the suspect and says some things that do work, but come up too abruptly) and while the criminal's eventual motive is a cliche, it's still a good story.

Review:
This is a cool case fic from the perspective of a smart little girl the bad guys are using to smuggle diamonds.  I really like her personality and the outsider perspective on the Peter and Neal partnership is nice too.
