Length: Medium (Words: 19,986)

Author's Summary:
Ten year old Dean gets kidnapped. He escapes. End of story? Of course it's a little more complicated than that.

Review:
Adorable brotherly bonding.  Sam's really good to Dean and Dean is awesome and kind of BAMF for a ten year old too.

Pairings: Dean/Castiel, Sam/Castiel (but not really)

Length: Short (Words: ~4k)

Author's Summary:
Sam tried the whole reverse psychology thing on Dean when he was seven. It didn’t end well for Sam or his stuffed elephant.

Review:
The glimpses of the boys as kids are great, and very funny and very cute too.  Sam spends most of the fic messing with his brother (with good intentions) - their relationship is pretty cool and squares nicely with the canon prank wars.  This is a short fic and short on plot as well, and briefly descends into complete raving madness but it definitely merits a smile and a laugh or two.

Castiel chose Jimmy; Claire wants to understand. 'The Rapture' as told by those left behind.

Review:
An awesome fic about Claire's point of view and development of character when her father says Yes to Castiel and walks out of her life.  Her tumultuous relationship with her faith as a result is really interesting and believable.  I also like how this fic deals with the story of normal people suddenly being faced with supernatural phenomenon that most, even the faithful, would probably seriously consider nothing more than a delusion.

Author: [archiveofourown.org profile] 1electricpirate
Fandom: Sherlock BBC, Harry Potter
Pairings: John/Sherlock
G
enre: Crossover, Romance
Length: Medium (Words: 37,928)

Author's Summary:
In which John is (reluctantly) a wizard, Mycroft is (apparently) omniscient, and Sherlock is (surprisingly) oblivious.

Review:
With enchanting descriptions of magic, an engaging character plot, and charming characterizations, this series is a really lovely take on BBC's Sherlock.  The plot and characters of Harry Potter aren't really important - it's Sherlock if it were to happen in the Harry Potter universe.  John's backstory is really interesting and an example of good world-building.  This crossover manages to do justice to both storyverses.  If this story had any more canon Harry Potter in it, John might cross into Gary Stu territory simply by being special - but this isn't a Harry Potter story, it's a John Watson story so it's right that he should be the special hero of the story.  Any less Harry Potter and you'd get the sense it was just a Sherlock with magic story (which would be fine, but not really a crossover).  The balance struck is just right.

Then there's the plot - which is really great.  It's a John/Sherlock romance where they're on a much more even footing than in many stories and it's a really cool dynamic - definitely ought to complement any Johnlock shipper's portfolio of favorites.
