Title: Just One Moon and One Golden Sun
Author: [archiveofourown.org profile] adventurepants
Fandom: Farscape
Genre: AU - John and Aeryn go to Earth earlier
Pairing: John/Aeryn (slow burn)
Length: Short (9,456 words)

Author's Summary:
Either they both go, or they both stay. “Aeryn,” he says, and he doesn’t know what to do, doesn’t know what he’s asking, if he’s asking anything. [AU- John makes it back to Earth, mid-season one.]

Review:
Aeryn's part of this story is amazing - she ends up going back to Earth with John almost a little on accident and then has to learn to make a life here. She faces complications like having a hard time learning English because her translator microbes make her hear everything, including her English lessons, in Sebacean.

Author's Summary:
The crew discover a dead leviathan whose Pilot and crew have all been murdered. But who was responsible and could the same fate be about to befall Moya?

Review:
OMG, this fic would have been a perfect canon episode! The plot is amazing, the foreshadowing is awesome and the villains are imaginative and super creepy and the characters are all very well-written and, like a lot of canon, the crew's choices end up causing a lot of problems. Outstanding fic.

Ten years after the Peacekeeper Wars, Olivia Critchon opens the door to find her brother on her front step.

Review:
An excellent Farscape fic, plotty with good characterization - the kids are especially nice (written as strong and smart but still young kids), fits well with canon, nice family themes.

Fandom: Farscape
Genre: Epistolary
Pairing: John Crichton/Aeryn Sun
Length: Short (3,408 words)

Author's Summary:
The approaching 300th anniversary of the Eidolon Reemergence has triggered an upsurge of interest in the figure held by popular legend to be at the heart of the period's turmoil. Be it as folk hero or bogeyman, Crichton is more likely to be remembered by the ordinary person than Emperor Staleek, Mele-on Grayza, or even High Priestess Muoma. The persistent myth of Crichton makes it difficult for the serious scholar to uncover the truth behind this controversial and fascinating historical figure, but such efforts are not without results.

Review:
Written like a far-future historian's study of what is remembered of Crichton and the other main characters. It's interesting from a meta view and also for anyone interested in historical, anthropological, or literary theories (I hit the trifecta there, so naturally, I liked this fic a lot).

Length: Medium (14,628 words)

Author's Summary:
John Crichton returns to Earth.

Review:
Really nice one shot - John and Aeryn visit Earth briefly so John can say goodbye and give his data and a bit of space tech to humans so they can get out into space themselves and that strikes me as a very John thing to do based on his character development by mid-to-late canon (this fic was written mid-canon). The characterizations are good, though John and Aeryn are understandably reserved given the situation. I just really like this one, and all the more because there are too few Farscape fics.

Title: Unrealized Peacekeeper
Author: OneEye the DRD
Fandom: Farscape
Genre: AU
Pairing: John/Gilina, Others I won't to spoil
Length: Very Long (178,804 words)

Author's Summary:
AU: In the fourth season episode "Unrealized Reality", we saw an alternate John Crichton who became a Peacekeeper captain. This is the story of how that might have happened.

Review:
This is a great fic and easily one of the best Farscape fics I've come across. The characterizations are fantastic and the plot, though meandering, keeps the story moving along at much the same pace as canon and every time I think maybe my interest might be lagging just a little, something new and exciting happens so really a very good read.

Fandom: Farscape, Doctor Who
Genre: Crossover, Character Study
Length: Short

Author's Summary:
John hasn't seen anyone from Earth in a long time. Imagine his surprise when he finds another human wandering through a market as if she belongs there.

Review:
Set ambiguously while Rose is traveling with the Doctor in Doctor Who, post-canon for Farscape.  Short, but kind of interesting with the contrast between Rose and Crichton.
