Title: The Montague Street Doctor
Author: [archiveofourown.org profile] The_Circus
Fandom: Sherlock BBC
Genre: Continuation (post-Riechenbach Falls), Character Study
Length: Long (Words: 61,488)

Author's Summary:
Just because Sherlock stopped, doesn't mean the Work has to. London is John's city now and he will keep it together with stitching, string, his healing, the food off his table, and sometimes the clothes off his back. John Watson keeps going. He's good at that.

Review:
This fic is John at his best, grieving but going on solving the problems of his and Sherlock's city. It's a great look at John's character and what he's capable of.

Title: the guilty do come home
Author: [archiveofourown.org profile] Scribbled_Truth
Fandom: Teen Wolf
Genre: General, Time Travel, Fix It
Length: Short (Words: 2,858)

Author's Summary:
See, here’s the thing, Kate wasn’t always crazy. She knows this. She gets it. She owns it.

Her Dad was a bit messed up and pressed his very fucked up ideas into her when he couldn’t get his claws -hah!- into Chris.
But now she’s dead, she really gets it.

So when the angel, or God, or judge, or whoever the fuck the being in front of those pearly white gates is, offers her a chance to do things over, to change things, she takes it.
She doesn’t intend to stay in Beacon Hills for one second but something in her gut makes her stay.
It’s her second week working when she meets Laura Hale and everything begins to fall into place.

Review:
Kate gets a second chance at living her life and while she's still crazy and creepy, she's committed to not being bad, exactly.  The effect that has on the lives of the Hale Pack and the Argent family is dramatic.

Title: The Spice of Life
Author: [archiveofourown.org profile] FunkyinFishnet
Fandom: Supernatural
Genre: Character Study, Friends to Lovers
Pairings: Sam/Gabriel, Dean/Castiel
Length: Short (Words: 4,594)

Author's Summary:
Sam loves research and finding answers. Gabriel has always been a fascinating unending equation and Sam is forever frustratingly playing catch-up. There’s tattoos, trumpets, and teeth and Sam works out eventually that he mostly doesn’t mind at all.

Review:
This fic has an interesting characterization of Gabriel - it's kind of dark but makes sense. I particularly like that though this is a character study built on insights into Gabriel's character, it keeps you guessing so Gabriel never looses that sense of being unknowable and inhuman.

Title: Life in the Twenty-First Century
Author: [archiveofourown.org profile] aces
Fandom: Leverage
Genre: Character Study, Friends to Lovers
Pairings: Alec Hardison/Parker/Eliot Spencer
Length: Short (Words: 4,104)

Author's Summary:
Alec Hardison, if pressed, would probably suggest that he subscribes to a post-modern definition of identity.

Review:
Good look at Hardison's character with lots of geeky (fandom) references, LGBT themes, and ship-related fluff.

Title: why don't we get together and call ourselves an institute
Author: [archiveofourown.org profile] leupagus
Fandom: Person of Interest
Genre: Romance
Pairings: Finch/Reese
Length: Short (Words: 4,282)

Author's Summary:
“It’s perfectly logical. We’re bound to be caught at some point together, and as far as I can see there’s no downside to connecting Mr. Warren to Mr. Wren socially. We’ll have an easier time explaining ourselves being together if we’re observed being together, and since you’ve vetoed all of my suggestions for activities that you could take up—“
“I’m not joining a bowling league, Harold,” John says firmly.

Review:
Finch and Reese try to manage several cover identities and end up creating a real relationship in the process. Some outsider POVs add fluff here which nicely offsets the often cold aspect of a ship between two very closed-off characters.
