Title: The Not Your Teaching Tool Job
Author: [archiveofourown.org profile] BlackEyedGirl
Fandom: Leverage
Pairings: Parker/Eliot Spencer/Alec Hardison
Genre: Romance, Coming Out, Asexual Relationships
Length: Short (Words: 3,750)

Author's Summary:
Parker doesn't understand why it has to be more complicated than: "I want to be with you, I just don't want to sleep with you." It's everyone else who has the problem. (Parker as a biromantic asexual)

Review:
LGBT fest fic from a few years ago. I've just found Leverage and I really like some of the quirky characters, especially Parker, Eliot, and Hardison. I think this fic does a good job with Parker's characterization and manages to be a good portrayal of romantic asexuality and coming out as ace too.

Title: They Still Write Poetry in the Fifty-First Century
Author: [livejournal.com profile] golden_d
Fandom: Torchwood
Pairings: Jack/Ianto
Genre: Gen
Length: Short
rec'd on fancake

Author's Summary:
“Today I looked out,” she reads, “and I saw my name among the stars.”

Review:
Beautiful fic - Tosh is canonically interested in alien/future languages and in this story, her talks with Jack about his background lead to him giving her a couple of books in a 51st century language he knows. One of the books is poetry. This fic is about her work translating it, how it affects/reflects on her relationships with Jack, Ianto, and Suzie, and a little bit about her sense of their places/roles in life (the universe, and everything). I really like this fic so even though I've already posted today's rec, I felt compelled to rec this one as soon as I'd finished it.
