Title: Sympathy for the Devil
Author: [archiveofourown.org profile] KouriArashi
Fandom: Teen Wolf
Genre: AU
Pairing: Peter/Stiles, Melissa/Rafael, Scott/Allison, Melissa/Sheriff Stilinski
Length: Long (72,522 words)
Warnings: Underage relationship (Stiles is underage and his relationship with Peter becomes sexual), Child and Spousal abuse (Mr. McCall on his family)

Author's Summary:
Stiles gets a job as a hospital orderly and finds himself becoming strangely attached to the catatonic man on the long-term care ward, and finds out that there's a lot more to Peter Hale than there seems...

Review:
Don't ignore the warnings! There's serious content in this fic that you should choose wisely whether you want to read. There were times I wanted to stop reading it for each of those warnings, but KouriArashi is a fantastic writer. And I did like this story. It's wonderfully plotty, which I always prefer in my ship fics. Also, Stiles is clever and capable and stories where Stiles helps Peter out pre-canon, while Peter is still catatonic and this story has all of that. Without spoiling, the ending was something of a relief as how problematic the situations of both warnings are does get addressed.

Title: Broadcast News (the Marionette Mix)
Author: [archiveofourown.org profile] flyingcarpet
Fandom: Hunger Games
Genre: Minor Character POV, Reality Check
Length: Short (3,081 words)

Author's Summary:
Caesar watches the Hunger Games, becomes a part of the production, and eventually learns to see beyond the spectacle.

Review:
Found this on the The Revolution Will Be Televised tag. I've read a few fics before showing how Cinna joined the revolution and I've read a few where individual Capitolites like Effie get a Reality Check and learn to see their own Privilege through the eyes of the districts - it's a genre I love, but this one in particular is really well put together. It's short and sweet, makes it point elegantly and cleanly and I think does capture Caesar on such a journey.

Title: One More Time
Author: [archiveofourown.org profile] TheWinsomeWasp
Fandom: Queer As Folk
Genre: Time Travel (Redo)
Pairing: primarily Justin/Brian
Length: Very Long (106,080 words and counting)

Author's Summary:
The night of Brian's funeral Justin wakes up in his 17 year old body - what would you do?

Review:
I make no secret of my love of redo time travel, but this is fast becoming on of my favorites. I love the reassessment of priorities which is common to redo fics, but I also love the less common themes like the relationship Justin develops with his grandmother, how he pulls his resources (limited at the beginning) to make sure he avoids or at least does better with some of the bad things he knows are coming. And I LOVE the moment that Justin and Brian are reunited - the feels! Also, features artists, making art, and the art business which I love to see in fics.  It's not just all good things though - Justin's relationship with his mother, Michael's mother, and his old friends is lost - which is sad, but more real than if everything went his way.

Title: Do not stand at my grave and weep
Author: [fanfiction.net profile] black-k-kat
Fandom: Torchwood
Genre: Fix-it, Ianto gets immortality
Pairing: Jack/Ianto
Length: Medium (19,301 words)

Author's Summary:
The 456 made a mistake when they threatened Earth's children - there was another force out there, older and far more powerful, that wanted those children protected. Ianto Jones awakens in the fairy world, charged with one task: safeguarding the Chosen Ones. But returning from the dead is never easy.

Review:
One of the most creative fix-its for CoE and for getting Ianto immortality. I really like the fairies in this one - they're very otherwordly, even the one that speaks in historical human poetry. Ianto's character is really well written too, which is always nice to read.

Fandom: Sherlock BBC
Genre: AU, Psychic powers
Pairing: John/Sherlock
Length: Medium (18,160 words)

Author's Summary:
John came back from Afghanistan psychic.

Review:
A plotty John-centric BBC Sherlock story about psychic powers that cause as many problems as they solve. John's characterization is fantastic. This fic is well-written and understandably popular (has almost 5000 Kudos and almost 2000 bookmarks on AO3). Also [archiveofourown.org profile] lunchee has made a podfic of this.

Title: Weave Ourselves in a Circle
Author: [archiveofourown.org profile] Akabit
Fandom: Teen Wolf
Genre: Time Travel, Fix-it, magic!Stiles&Lydia, good!Peter
Pairing: Stiles/Derek
Length: Medium (18,035 words)

Author's Summary:
Stiles and Lydia try to cast a time loop spell but wind up with something altogether more complicated. Every action has consequences.
or
Stiles hops through time to fix everything. Sort of good Peter is sort of helpful...sometimes.

Review:
Really well plotted time travel fic - Stiles has to keep going back in time trying to get it right and the more times he goes back, the more complicated it becomes keeping everything straight and finding the right levers in time. I also really like the ways that Stiles, Lydia, and eventually Peter (who isn't in the know but figures it out from the outside) work together - all three are really well written.

Title: the small
Author: [archiveofourown.org profile] dirgewithoutmusic
Fandom: Tortall
Genre: Minor Character POV
Pairing: Lalasa Isran/Tianine Plowman
Length: Short (7,086 words)

Author's Summary:
Bandits came for Lalasa’s family and burned the whole farm out, except for her, because she had been at the river washing clothes. Lalasa did not miss her father or her brothers for all the long years of her life, which should tell you something about her.
She cried for them anyway, and that should tell you something too.
--
Retelling of Page and Squire from Lalasa's POV.

Review:
Does a great job capturing Lalasa's character which is an interesting one in terms of her own character arc and how it runs parallel to and independently of Kel's.
