Review:
I wouldn't say Harry is so much angry as informed and supported - he gets a whole host of adult magical mentors before Hogwarts and it makes for an interesting independent!Harry with excellent plotting and character development. I like when independent!harry fics manage to keep Dumbledore from turning into too much of a caricature and this one does, so all around a good fic.

Okay, this prompt could have been answered in all kinds of ways, including some real downers, but this fic is beautiful and though if may have started as a simple tumblr fic, it is fantastically fleshed out with secondary characters and relationships, with backstory and plot and though it is still short, it's just such a perfect answer to the prompt.

Clever book nerd Finch (aka Foxface) gets a little help prepping for her games from the District 2 mentor who owes her father a favor. In the process, she tells Cato stories of the banned histories she's read while working in the government computer systems. It's a little bit Scheherazade and a little bit cute romance where the heroine is a lot like, well, the kind of people who love fanfic. But there's still the Games, and things go bad fast for Finch and Cato (and even faster for Katniss and Peeta who just aren't important in this story). This is an active work in progress and I'm really looking forward to seeing where it goes next.
