End of the Line / by shewhoguards (PG-15)
Nov. 28th, 2012 04:23 pmTitle: End of the Line
Author:
shewhoguards
Fandom: Harry Potter, Discworld (no Discworld knowledge needed)
Pairings: canon
Genre: General
Length: Medium (Words:30,933)
Author's Summary:
Review:
Various Harry Potter characters meet their loved ones on the platform while waiting for their train to "the next great adventure". Discworld's Death, Death of Rats, and Quoth act as psychopomps/station guards (knowledge of Discworld is not required to enjoy this story). There's no plot --- nothing much actually happens except a little closure and happy endings all around. The chapters are unrelated, each dealing with a different character (or in some cases with each of a character's most important relationships). I especially like that, woven in to all this, there's a bit of non-denominational philosophy/theology which, much like Pratchett's take on Death, asks the questions without giving the answer.
