Review:
Great X-Files style case-fic. Mulder and Scully end up involved in a case of mysterious illnesses that seem to suggest the existence of soulmates. And because you can't have a romance fic about soulmates not at least tease the main pair, Mulder and Scully start to come down with the same symptoms. But this isn't a Because Destiny Said So romance - the incident merely leads Mulder and Scully to realize their love for one another. There remains throughout the equal possibility that the soulmate thing is all in their heads or actually real and it's never driving the plot. The decision to act on it is entirely their own. I think that makes it a better romance story. And it is a good, if slow, romance with really great characterizations and character voices.
