Mickey Smith has always defined himself by other people. When his assumptions about those people are wrong, Mickey has to come to his own conclusions about who he is.

Review:
In alternate Earth where Rose's dad and a bunch of former resistance fighters are dismantling cyber-conversion factories and destroying all the remaining cybermen, Mickey Smith learns his alternate universe counterpart (whom he idolizes for his bravery and capability as a soldier) was in a relationship with fellow fighter Jake.  This leads Mickey to question his own identity and his beliefs about what it means to be a man and the way this story deals with that is great.  I also like how the other characters are treated in this fic, especially Jackie Tyler.
