Sky's the Limit / by blackkat (PG-15)
Oct. 7th, 2013 08:17 pmTitle: Sky's the Limit
Author:
blackkat
Fandom: Torchwood
Genre: AU - (2-point) Canon Divergence
Length: Short (Words: 6,694 and counting)
Author's Summary:
1. Ianto and Suzie meet as strangers on a rooftop, and bond over aborted suicide attempts, failed plans, bastard fathers, and the fact that they're batting for both teams. Friendship is a beautiful thing.
2. Neither Ianto nor Suzie has ever really had a functional relationship. They're certainly not about to start now.
Review:
An AU where prior to Season 1 but post Battle of Canary Wharf, two things happen at once - Suzie's Resurrection Glove is destroyed and Lisa kills herself (probably). Suzie and Ianto end up on the same rooftop in Cardiff planning suicide. It's kind of inconvenient that doing it together would probably make people think tragic love story instead of whatever their problems actualsuch an outrageous coincidence that they end up on the same roof on the same day, both a step away from Death by Torchwood that they stop and talk and decide not to go through with it. They end up dangerously codependent, but both better in some ways than in canon. It's a really interesting AU.
