In 1947, famous clairvoyant Jean Dixon convinced Truman to create a town dedicated to the study of magic and the occult.
The first time Jack came to Eureka, he’d ended up getting turned into a werewolf. Now he was back as Sheriff, and is surprised to find that his experience was a typical day for the town.
In addition to golems, ghosts and magical mishaps, now he has to deal with his inner wolf’s inappropriate crush on Nathan Stark.
Review:
A interesting total AU where Eureka is home to the best magical minds in the country instead of the best scientific ones. It's a cool idea, well executed and explained. It adapts the very first plot arc in the series with Walter and his family and though the story is a little brief for the size of the chosen plot, I still think its a good short one-shot anyways. I would really love to see several sequels to it, adapting more than just the one episode to the AU so I hope the author decides to write on. My only complaint is that I think Stark is a bit too accepting too quickly considering his character in canon, but I can justify that as maybe he is one of those people who just can't say no to an adorable canine (Jack makes friends with him first in wolf form, though Stark does know who he is at the time).
