Review:
This is a great case fic for a tiny fandom.  The canon genre is Urban Fantasy set in contemporary London.  The system of magic is pretty cool and canon and fic alike are peppered with pop culture references for the generation that grew up with Harry Potter which I love seeing in any canon.  The author takes the time to explain what you need to know from canon in a writing style that manages to take the best of canon and correct the bits that annoyed me (dialog/description balance, Britspeak overdose, etc).  There's good world-building put into this fic too, adding a bit of traditional British Mythology too, to make a case that fits but isn't instantly solvable based on canon knowledge of magic
